"My name is Gemma. I am from Western Samar. I am currently living in Manila to work. I left my mother and siblings back in my province.

My family is one of the victims of the tragedy that happened in Samar and Leyte, victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). We lost our house and livelihood. My family survived everyday living by relying on our rice fields, which we lost during the storm as well. My father just passed away this year and immediately after my mother suffered from a mild stroke. My mother has had a difficult time walking because of this.

With my mother’s case as our main concern, we are asking for help so that my mother and siblings may find a home again."
